Adding and Editing Assessments

This section will take you through the assessment setup, covering all of the settings and options available to you for different assessment types.

In this guide, we'll be setting up a Practical assessment. Settings available to you may differ slightly if using a different 'Type'.

1

From your dashboard, select 'Training', then 'Assessments' and next select the 'Add' symbol.

You will then be able to choose your assessment type. The assessment types available to choose from are 'online', 'e-learning', 'time-based', 'webinar', 'practical and 'competency form'.

There is also a list of 'categories' to choose from. Type into the search box and a range of options will appear.

2

From here, once you have inputted the main 'Overview' details, you will find a range of of options that you can work through. The 'Setup' tab allows you to configure the main settings of your assessment.

Expiry details allow you to configure if and when the qualification will expire. Toggle on 'Does not expire' if the qualification does not expire and candidates are not required to revalidate.

'Assessment Validity' is where you set the amount of time after the assessment is completed successfully that the qualification will expire and require revalidation.
Toggling on 'Variable expiry' allows the assessment to be given different expiries upon completion. If selected, enter the maximum allowed validity.

These additional options allow you to toggle the requirement of a valid driving license, toggle the assessment to show for candidates booking onto courses and to suppress assessment related email reminders.

'Linked assessments' allows you to link this assessment to another, once linked they will share a qualification.
Creating an assessment for specific companies? Or one that some companies shouldn't have access to? The company restriction settings here allow you to restrict this assessment to or from specific companies.

Once happy with the configuration, click 'Next' to continue.

There is also an option to 'automatically archive assessments'. By toggling this option 'On', qualifications covering the assessment will be automatically removed from candidate's profiles when they expire but any qualifications will still be accessible via the qualifications tab filter, if needed for future use.

3
The 'Information' tab is where you provide information about your assessment to the candidates booking onto it. This information will be displayed to them when viewing the assessment. This is the place to add any important information they should know about the assessment and what it entails.

Once complete, click 'Next' to continue.

4
'Printing and reporting' allows you to select if and how you want this assessment to have a printed certificate. Toggling 'Permit/Certificate options' will allow users to print or download a certificate of completion or a permit. Amending the text here will change the button text to download or print that certificate.
Selecting 'Include assessment in skills report' will set the skills report to include this assessment.

Toggling on 'Request Feedback' allows you to enter a URL to a third party feedback form. This form will be presented to the candidate upon completion of the assessment.
Once happy with your settings, click 'Next' to continue.

5
'Finance' allows you to set the price for your assessment. For a practical course, this is the AdHoc price, the price for individual courses is set when creating a course for this assessment.

Once done, click 'Next' to continue.

6
'Pre-requisites' allow you to set other assessments as pre-requisites to this one. This can be configured to your needs and helps ensure people don't book/take a certain assessment before another? By enabling pre-requisites and defining what people need before they are able to access this assessment will help alleviate problems later on.

Once happy with your conditions, click 'Add condition' to continue and finally 'Save'.
7
'Required Documentation' allows you to set the assessment to require documentation, these documents are submitted at the time of booking, allowing trainers to collect and vet important documents before the course begins.

Required Documentation is covered in: Document Collection

When you are happy with your assessment setup, click 'Save' to finalise.
