Switching Impounds on/off
This section will guide you through switching vehicle impounding 'on' and 'off'.
To have the ability to change impound settings, you must be an 'Impound Manager' or a 'Superuser'.
Firstly, once you have logged into 'Onboard' select the 'admin' tab.
Once here navigate to the ‘Settings’ tab. You can turn impounds on and off by toggling the ‘Impound vehicles and equipment’ switch.
To view the ‘Impound’ tab you'll need to use the back button on the navigation bar to get back to the top level. You should now be able to select the 'impound' vehicle tab and control whether you wish to activate impounding vehicles on your side.
Defining Impound Reasons
This section will guide you through how to add reasons to impounding a vehicle.

You can now select the ‘Reasons’ tab to view the current reasons for impounding. Here you can amend, delete or add new reasons.

Here you can see your list of impound reasons and have the option to edit them or add new ones.

To add a new reason, select 'add impound reason', you can enter a 'custom code' and a 'description'. Click 'Add impound reason to save'.

Defining Impound states
This section will guide you through how to define impound states and configure their settings.
It is important to ensure that you 'Save' changes after each change that is made.

You can select the ‘States’ tab to view the current impound states. Here you can amend, delete or add new states.

Next, you will be given the option to 'search for a state' or 'add a state' (using the + symbol). There is also a filter option as well to make your search more specific.

Next, you will be able to add in the 'name' and 'description' to the state of the impounded vehicle. Save once these details have been added.

When adding or editing a state, you can opt to ‘automatically progress fleet items to a different state’. You can set the state vehicles will automatically progress to and when. You may still manually move vehicles when auto-progression is toggled on.

You can now decide whether you wish to charge fees for vehicles in this state. If toggled on, fees will be configured in the ‘Fees’ tab. You can set certain companies as ‘Non-charging' for this state.

Now fees are toggled on for the impound state, select the 'Fees' tab. From here, you have the option to add an 'initial fee' and 'daily fees'.

Impound Emails
This section will guide you through how setting up advisory emails for the impound state.
It is important to ensure that you 'Save' changes after each change that is made.

- From the 'Advisory emails' tab, select 'Create advisory email' to begin.

You can now create your advisory email. You can edit the subject and body of the email and style it to your preference with the text editor. You can also click 'Preview email' to see the finished email as it will be received.

Below the email editor are the email settings. Here you can decide if this email should go to impound admins, company admins who own the vehicle, or both. You may also choose between two options for triggering the email: Immediately when a vehicle enters this state, or after a specified number of days in the state. Once you're happy with the content and settings, click 'Create email' to save.

Finally, you will then see the following screen below, where you will see your 'advisory email schedule'. From here, if you select 'action', you will then be able to 'edit', 'preview' or 'delete' your email. It is important here again to 'Save' the changes before exiting the page.
