Gaining a Landside Operators License
To start your landside operators licence application you will need to visit Onboard and log in. If you or your company does not have an account with Onboard, you will need to register first.
If you have not yet registered please see this guide - Register an account in Onboard
Once you have logged in to Onboard, select 'Begin a new application'
You will get an option to select which kind of operators licence you require. Please select 'Landside Operators Licence' and choose 'Begin application'.
The set up for the landside operators licence costs £15 plus VAT, this is a one-time payment. This will need to be paid before you begin any part of your application.
You will also see your landside operators licence application. You will then see the Terms & Conditions milestone for the application. Click ‘View’ to open the milestone.
Please complete the form, read and accept the terms and conditions, and click ' Save and Submit'.
Once you have submitted your application, you will see the below page. Your application needs to be reviewed and accepted before you can begin permitting vehicles. Please note - you cannot start permitting vehicles until the landside operators licence application has been paid for.
Permitting Your Vehicles
Once your application has been accepted, and the application has been paid for you are ready to add and permit your vehicles. Log in to Onboard and select 'Fleet' on the left-hand toolbar.
Select the plus icon at the bottom right of the screen to add a fleet item.
Select the fleet item type and enter the registration and click 'Search'.
If the system doesn't recognise the fleet ID/registration number, you will need to provide more details. Once you have completed all the answers, click on ' Save and permit'. However, if you just want to save and not permit the vehicle yet, click 'Save'.
You will then need to fill out your application form for permitting the vehicle. Once done, click ' Save and Permit'.
You will need to pay for each vehicle permit you purchase; the price is £12 plus VAT.
Once your permit application has been reviewed and accepted and the permit has been paid for, you are ready to print your permit and park your vehicle in your chosen area.
Log in to Onboard and select ' Fleet' on the left-hand toolbar. Then select 'Recently Approved'. You will see your valid vehicle permit there. Click on 'View'.
You will see 'Print Permit' at the top of the page, where you can print your permit and put this in your now-approved vehicle.
If your permit application gets rejected you will receive an email to say your vehicle application has been rejected. You must log back into Onboard and review the application again and resubmit. The reviewer will leave comments on what needs to be changed so you should be able to resubmit after correct changes have been made.
